Recipe for Imeretian Khachapuri

Recipe for Imeretian Khachapuri

Here’s a simplified recipe to make Imeretian khachapuri at home:

Ingredients:

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 7g instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 300ml lukewarm milk
  • 50ml lukewarm water
  • 300g sulguni cheese (or substitute with mozzarella and feta in equal parts)
  • 100g imeruli cheese (or substitute with a mild white cheese like farmer’s cheese or ricotta)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • In a large bowl, mix the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt together.
    • Gradually add the lukewarm milk and water, mixing until a dough forms.
    • Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
    • Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  2. Prepare the Filling:

    • Grate the sulguni and imeruli cheeses into a mixing bowl.
    • Mix the cheeses together until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Khachapuri:

    • Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air.
    • Divide the dough into two equal portions and roll each portion into a circle about 30cm (12 inches) in diameter.
    • Place half of the cheese filling in the center of each circle of dough, leaving a border of about 2-3cm (1 inch) around the edge.
    • Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pleating as you go to create a crust.
  4. Bake the Khachapuri:

    • Transfer the assembled khachapuri onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Beat the egg and brush the edges of the dough with the egg wash.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve:

    • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
    • Enjoy your homemade Imeretian khachapuri while it’s warm and gooey!

A Korean corn dog is a finger licking street food. It’s a one type of hotdog and a piece of cheese inside the hotdog.

When raw hotdog is ready dipped in a thick batter, often made with corn flour and sometimes with rice flour and rolled in breadcrumbs or rolled in different topping like diced potatoes or crushed ramen noodles.

After that, its deep-fried until crispy and golden brown.

On the top of that, use some variations on toppings. Sometime sprinkled with sugar or drizzled with sauce like ketchup, mayonnaise, or mustard. It’s crunchy, sweet and savory snack that’s really satisfying to eat.
